Happy Halloween!

The kids had a great day! Complete with a school parade, school party, trick-or-treating at Dad's work, and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Preston was Darth Vader, and Katie and Natalie were princesses. The kids really loved the food, games, candy and fun part of Halloween but none of them were fans of the spooky part. Every time we went by someone with a spooky mask the kids automatically went the opposite direction. Preston even told me "Why do people keep saying you look scary to me?" "I'm not scary." I told him that Darth Vader can be scary because he isn't a nice person. In his very limited knowledge of Star Wars he answered back "Ya like when he Hah Sawed Obi One Kanobi and he turned into a frog." I smiled and let him know that that was actually a Barbie movie he was thinking of. He then just smiled and said "Oh . . . , well I'm not scary. The kids got tons of candy, and will be paying taxes (in candy) to their parents come morning.

Can You Say Mullet?

Today Brandon dressed up for Halloween. Isn't his mullet hot? Everyone at work said that he was reliving his High School days, but little did they know that soon after high school was over Brandon was bald. Every time Natalie saw him she would let out a little scream. He wasn't exactly going for the freaky look but I guess it still came across to her.

Family Halloween Party

We had a great time at our FHE Halloween party. We played Halloween Bingo, pin the eye on the monster, danced to the "Monster Mash," and carved pumpkins. While carving pumpkins Brandon and Katie enjoyed putting "pumpkin brains" in their mouths, while Natalie licked the inside of her pumpkin lid and Preston informed everyone that they were gross. It was a great night of fun!

Witches Night Out

I went to a neighborhood "Witches Night Out" party this last week. It was tons of fun. We had great food and great company. There was even an initiation poem that was read to become a witch, complete with a cackling contest. Thanks for a fun night girls!

Crazy Hair Day

It was Crazy Hair day this last week at the local elementary school. Katie had a lot of fun with it.

It's a Girl!

Finally after having a boy's room (bright blue paint) for years, we painted Katie's room pink. She has been begging us for quite some time now. We separated the girls (giving them their own room) and put Preston downstairs. We also painted Natalie's room purple. The girls both love their rooms. Our next step will be decorating the walls and then we'll paint Preston's room.

Pumpkin Patch

When Bubba and Nother Bubba were here over Conference weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. The kids enjoyed the hayride, picking pumpkins, and the fresh pumpkin donuts, but most of all they loved spending time with their Bubbas. Thanks for the visit!

First Hair Cut

Natalie just got done going to Mom's beauty parlor. She got her first hair cut. She did great. I was pleasantly surprised. I think after watching her brother and Dad get their hair cut so many times by Mom she was ready to try it. She sang the whole time I cut it. She is definitely growing up. She has been keeping her panties dry this week, as well as doing great staying in her big girl bed. Milestones are so fun to watch and be a part of.
